Forell Ranch Horses
The horse program at Forell Ranch began as a breeding program based on a Blue Valentine stud and Driftwood mares. In her search for high quality mares, Baru went to the 6666 Ranch at Guthrie, Texas. They stood Drifts Chip and Ikes Double Drift and eventually several daughters of each ended up at Forell Ranch. Western Sequel, by Ikes Double Drift went back to Joe Hancock three times in the Burnett mare lines. Baru received her AQHA 10-year breeder’s recognition and Western Sequel, purchased as a weanling from Burnett Ranches, became a motivator in moving the ranch from a breeding to a performance-based program.
